I'd wait for the money to show up.

I'm going to find out, one of those guys just won an auction.image

I've had a few private feedback overseas bidders win before ad have never had a problem. You can usually tell a flakey bidder by the way they coimmunicate after the auction. If he gives you the willies cancel the
    sale.

So what happens if he pays by Paypal, you ship, then he files a report that you didn't send the coin?

How much is the sale worth?

    You're hosed.
You could insist he pay for registered mail.

That raises a question I have. I've sent registered mail overseas, but have never gotten any feedback through a postal system that the item actually arrived, unless I use return receipt.

But, in the case of the return receipt, I have found that only 50% of the time does the receipt ever come back, which seems a waste.

The question is, what have other overseas sellers seen?

It's only 25 bucks but I don't feel generous currently.

  • Private feedbacks make me nervous regardless of country. I have sold a few items over the years but never to china, I'd wait for the money.

Wybrit - You probably already know this, but use the pink return receipt (the green one doesn't work outside theUS). Also for some countries (Canada for one) you can track your registered package online at www.usps.gov - Rob

I wouldn't send to China if they had open feedback and a 1000 purchases...JMHO

Don't waste your money sending anything USPS Registered outside of the U.S./Canada as the packet is only Registered to the U.S. border then you're on your own. They fail to mention this when they take your money.

I believe that registered is registered, no matter where it goes.

Nope, I've tried to make claims on several packages (one to Germany, one to England) that were "lost" and although the USPS asked those countries postal service if they had seen the packages, which they hadn't record of, the USPS told me "Sorry, we can't do anything after it leaves the U.S." Sad, but true.
  • I have sold to Hong Kong and Macau without problems, China on the other hand has been a problem with non paying bidders on all bids. I now cancel bids from China.

The listing shows the countries I ship to and since China is not one of them I too would cancel the bid. Then give a courteous explanation to the bidder. Your question about last minute snipers is a good one and is more perplexing. I don't believe there is a satisfactory solution to this problem with Ebay's current system.

Cache is right, I'm afraid. The sender can try to recover from his country's P.O., but the recipient's country won't usually admit it was lost in their hands.
