Battered But Beautiful

I also was at the NYINC, Friday (wet) and Sunday (cold). I mostly was looking for papal medals, so I spent much of my time with Allen Berman. Said hello to Civitas, and picked up two rijksdaalders for one of my casual collections. Karl Stephens certainly did have nice Canadians. Not an interest of mine, but I was looking for someone else.
Actually, the two most interesting finds were "asides." They were not given any prominence by the respective dealers, because they were quite battered, but they were nice all the same. One connects with my Mariannes. The other with a potential interest; British royal marriages.

<< <i>I think they are both rather cool - it isn't that they are battered but rather that they have character.
