My FUN Show Report!

Well... Friday was hell... was planning on leaving here around 10am, and get to Ft. Lauderdale around 2:30-3pm, so I could get in for the TCCS meeting at 3:30... well... first off, a truck overturned on interstate, closing it, so, my Godfather, who was coming from Tampa to pick me up, was going to take a back road to Lakeland... well... he kinda missed the turn, and ended up 45 minutes up the road... so... he didn't get here until 15 'til 11am... we got out on the road, was fine most of the way... then we got around West Palm Beach and traffic slowed WAY down!! And we crawled the rest of the way to Ft. Lauderdale. Our 4 hour trip, turned into a 7 hour journey....... image So, I got up to the convention center just in time for them to close to One-Way traffic... so, I can't even get in, to see my friends, to get plans together for Saturday... called up IdahoGal, and she, Tassa and Fatman came out and talked to me for a little bit before going.

Saturday was a MUCH better day!! Got to the show at 10am, and went straight to Jade's table. Talked to Dennis for a few minutes, when Steven Crain, Secretary of the JRCS, and 25-year collector of Bust Half-Dimes walked up... Had an awesome conversation for close to an hour with him, just talking about Half-Dimes!! Real great guy, and a very enjoyable time image From there, I made my way over to TBT's table, where IdahoGal was helping him out image That was a lot of fun!! image Hung out there for a while, got pressed into service by Bryan to grade Mercury Dimes image Petescorner showed up, he was a nice guy, decent to meet image And then I waited around for Tassa and the Mad One himself to show up... Marty is just as CRAZY in real life as on the forums!!!! I yelled out "Marty!! I want to see your WIENIE!!" and I got my Wienie slab image Also saw SaintGuru there at the table... he pulls out his Saints, and he hands one to me to look at, and I pull the light over, admiring it... and I was like, so, how much would this be worth... "Around $75,000" image Most money I've ever held in my hand image Had lunch at this crappy little CyberCafe in the convention center with Petescorner, his dad, Tassa, and Marty, before heading back into the show... Also had a chance to search several stacks of Proof Sets with Marty image Pulled a few out for myself too image But a great learning experience to search with Marty... image Oh yeah, the last dealer we looked through (And the one I bought all my cherrypicks from) charged us a nickel for each set we looked at image But, he credited it to any purchases we made... I told him to put mine on Marty's Tab image I think Marty ended up spending some $250 there image

So, anyways, besides my proof set purchases image This was the only thing of importance I bought at FUN image Notice the strong clash marks... it's also clashed on the left side of the bust, and on the reverse, they just didn't stand out as well in the pictures... image

Good report. Makes one feel that they were actually at the

show, instead of just reading about it. Look foward to other

reports from you, when you attend other shows. Sounds like you gained

a lot of valuable experience at the show. Good work.

Yes, and Marty needs to leave work NOW and go image one particular coin from the group of sets he bought. I have the appropriate image at the ready! image
