Does anyone think Heritage is over extending itself ???

With Heritage auctioning off:
Coins
Currency
Sports cards and memorabilia
Comics
Movie Posters
Art
Antiques
Americana,
Celebrity autographs
Entertainment & Music memorabilia
Illistration Art
Pop Culture memorabilia

Do you think a lot more mistakes will be made on their part in the coin and currency auctions as these other auctions grow?

NO - they sell these items in auction and have great expertize in these areas - It is highly unlikely that expanding their repertoire of auctions will impair their core business of coins and currency.

    More like diversifying than over-extending.

NO. I'd rather see them move into other areas as opposed to flooding the coin market with even more coin auctions.

I think I would rather buy my coins from someone whose first interest is coins not collectible garden spades.

  • as long as the economy stays the way it is or better then they are doing fine. downturn in the economy and they will need to tighten their belt.

I talked to a Heritage employee and he told me the new 2.5 floors of the building they just moved into is too small. they need more space.

    BTW they have 250 employees

    Bajjerfan,
Heritage is a very large company. Just as they employ experts in the field Numismatics, I am sure they employ experts for the other markets as well. Even collectible garden spades.image I sincerely doubt one area would affect the other.

With all that going on they forgot to hire somebody that can make a decent coin image.
Change that we can believe in is that change which is 90% silver.

I think the photography for all the fun auctions shows improvement. I like they way they are showing a c/u image taken with a camera, as well as a scan of the coin in the holder.
