Although most of us here are following the Gregorian calendar and are thus in 2005 (although in some cases such as mine it's debatable at best), perhaps your collection is set in a far different era.
So what century does most of your collection, on average, fall into?
(I've asked this on US forums before but as you can understand there wasn't much scope beyond 19th and 20th), hopefully here the results should be a little more varied.

Also i axed the vast majority of my 20th century coins and entirely annihilated all but two of my 19th century ones. But recently the 20th century acquisitions have been on the increase.

<< <i>Mine are currently evenly split between 19th and 20th centuries. I have a handful from earlier eras, but not any significant quantity.

Forboding or what? Anything you had in mind?
If you just look at what I actively collect it is probably evenly split between the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries.
I love 19th century world coins - the designs did not have to be "dumbed down" to be able to produce mega-millions of coins
18th Century - just one word suffices - Conders!

Probably about 75% is 20th century. Since most of my collection is eastern Europe, the majority of it dates post WWI, and the dissolution of the Ottoman Empire. My Canadians do date back to the mid 19th century, as does my British.
I'm afraid to be alive without being aware of it
Most of my personal collection is Roman Republic and Imperial 100BC-400AD with thirty peices of ancient greece all around 200-300BC, so I would have to date my main "collection" as Roman Imperial ca 300 AD, and just for you - mine are all "hammered" peices as well.
