What's Up With My Buffalo?

Here's the reverse of my 1913 V2 Buffalo :

Is there something going on with the right side of the rim? Could it be a possible doubling or a crease or is this common/normal with wear? I want to make sure I don't overlook any possible errors before selling my buffs.

thanks

  • Could be damage from a rolling machine. The lettring in AMERICA looks as if machinery pushed it slightly. Otherwise looks normal. Selling your Buffs? Why?
  • Thanks for the reply, Hedger...I have a mere seven circulated buffalo nickels in my collection. I'd like to turn the revenue from my buffalo nickel sale into one MS65+ slabbed Buffalo. (btw, buffs are gorgeous in mint state; I look forward to buying one soon.)

Looks very slightly off-center to me? Look how narrow the rim is on the other side.

What TommyType said. It does look to be a teeny bit O/C, and while I can see Hedger's point about rolling machine damage, that arc looks just a little too perfect for damage, maybe?

Yep, it's just slightly off center. No premium in this case.

I would say that it is a slightly mis-aligned die.

might be worth a VERY slight premium since it is very minor.

Is the obverse rim the same? If not, it's a misaligned rev die.
  • I'd say it's a misaligned rev die based on your statement, konye

thanks for all the replies !
