Question about a proof 57 frankie

I was looking at some of my Frankie albums and I noticed that this 57 proof Frankie is developing some nice album toning, but it is also developing this area of purple toning on the face and field. Any ideas what is causing this odd toning and does it detract from the overall coin? The coin is a nice proof and the spotting is dust on the plastic. The coin is really clean. Any ideas?

I used to have a 1954 cameo franklin that had quite a bit of dark, purple toning that covered his entire bust. I remember reading that many of the proof franklins from that time developed that kind of purple toning, and it had been attributed to the packaging materials- however, the packaging materials changed from 54 to 57, so I don't know if there is a different reason why yours is developing that kind of toning now. The only problem I have with toning on proof franklins in the center of the coin is that it can really detract from any cameo contrast, since the bust is the part that is frosted from the fields... otherwise, I love toning on proof franklins.....

It looks like there is a pattern to the purple toning. It looks like there is an upside down A on Frankies neck...

Been pretty good rocco, My collection has grown to an uncontrolable monster.....which is a good thing.
