Please help donate counterfeit coins.

Hello, I was wondering if anyone has some obvious or notsoobvious counterfeited coins that they know are counterfeit, yet do not want them, or are willing to give them away to a good cause. I guess you could say I'm a YN (Young numismatist) , I collect coins, any really. Awhile ago a kind forum people knew I was interested in counterfeit detection of coins and generously sent me a "1900" american eagle ASE.

It's a crude counterfeit, not even spark erosion (its just mold cast), and the surfaces have been polished to even out the roughness. I guess the counterfeiter thought this would make the coin look more realisitic.
The coin feels like its made out of tin, it obviously isn't made out of silver, and oddly enough, the date says 1900. There were none of these coins made in 1900, they started making ASE's in the 80's.I don't see any toolmarks; probably because the counterfeiter made it in a hurry.

I'm not really expecting anything, please don't call me greedy, I just would find it a great opportunity of someone could donate a worthless counterfeit coin to me. I have read the PCGS Guide to counterfeit detection, I know what to look for, and have a good eye. I also have 2 10x loupes, and a 30X microscope (for toolmarks).

Please give me a private message if you wish to help me on this.

Thank you.

Well I've never actually seen a good counterfeited coin, the one I have seen was mold cast.

I wish I lived next to a bigger city or had my own car, I could just drive down to a shop and ask if they have any counterfeiters in the back shop. The good cause is having a big heart and sending a worthless counterfeit coin (that you don't want) to me, I'd really have a fun time looking at one.

I know this probably sounds selfish, lol. But I'm just trying to learn in pratice, and I think that's the best way to start.

He's asked for those in the past. I think a better idea is for him to sell one of his junk GAE's that are only worth their bullion value and buy some counterfeit examples.
  • that's 5.00 bucks
  • OK
pay the 5.00 to your favarity charity and we'll let this kid get a JOB !!!!!!
and really enjoy the fruits of his labor or his gold copins

I don't want them for value, rather to look at the coin under magnification and the details about it.
I'm getting a job hopefully at bashs grocery or another store soon. I have a job pending at NASA.
    .

The people on this forum seem to have gone really downhill recently.. jeesh. Perhaps it was a bit low or immature for me to ask for a counterfeit coin, how about responding in a constructive way?

    here's the deal.

the counterfeits are worth MONEY also, and sometimes possibly quite a bit of money.

so the chances of anyone giving one away are slim.

In fact, I paid $170 for the last counterfeit I purchased (As a counterfeit).

Ahh really? I didn't know that.

I apologize than, I had NO clue. Since I recieved a crude counterfeit from someone (I didn't ask for it) on this forum, I thought automatically they weren't worth anything.

Don't give him any coins guys. he lied to us just the other day about owning a MS-68 and MS-67 morgan in this thread

Give him another chance? I did two times ago. Its done with. I don't care if he is a YN or not. We have tried to help him numerous times and he just gets worse.

    To sum it up...

Him and all of his brothers are registered here, or at least a couple user ids claiming to be his brothers, all of which only participated in soliciting free numistic items and entering giveaways. Awhile ago his dad took away his coins without telling him because his dad saw what he was posting here and didn't like him spending all his time online and soliciting free coins from stangers, so he cut back on his internet time. This was during the summer when the kids were out of school. Anyways, it caused all sorts of issues due to his irresponsibility in handling the situation. He then came back a couple times telling us about how he got locked up, tried to burn down his house, hit his mother, and wants to kill himself in the US coin forum, which was interesting - these threads got deleted rather quickly (Though I have archived versions saved locally, they were quite entertaining and it was painfully obvious the boy was just craving attention and using inappropriate means to try and get it). And now he's back again playing the same cards I suppose, pretending like nothing negative ever happened.

I believe that was Coinerww that posted that his coins were stolen and then turned out that his dad took them? I can't find the post now, but he may be one of this kids brothers. I know when Coinerww entered a giveaway he always enters all his brothers, cousins, friends, etc.

  • Yes Cherwood is correct. GoldCoinLover talked about how he was going to kill himself at camp with a pistol and went into great detail describing the bet some boys made against girls. (It involved drinking urine FYI) Along with annoying everyone out of their minds with the boasting of his coins and asking for free stuff.

This is the same kid that slapped his mother around, just to get taken to jail for the night. Sounds today like he is taking his medication.

If indeed a YN, you are learning at a young age to be a no good worthless scumbag. Maybe you are some 45-year old person trying to swindle the nice people of these forums.
