Looks Like Superior Has A New Leader?

Joe Tuttle...looks like they are gearing up for a spring auction...any comments from the peanut gallery on Joe. I dont know him myself, but will be tough to fill Chris Porter's shoes, that's for sure. I hope he can come up w some sweet material for that auction though.

Yah, looks like you'll be seeing more SGC graded material in their auctions than before.

The icon on the upper right corner of the email suggests that Superior is still a Division of Collectors Universe. Someone might want to tell Joe to change this.
  • Hmmm...so I take it this guy is an SGC guy...seeing as how I wont buy SGC graded cards I guess that means Superior is no longer a viable alternative for me. Oh well, just one less big pond to go fishing in.

  • I have a few dealings with Joe, and they have all been first class.

I sold him a PSA 8 1962 Brock rookie, very good transaction..

But I dont doubt that the Brock could end up in a 9 holder.. it was the sharpest i've ever seen..

  • Joe Tuttle is a first class. The majority of the psa 10's that reside in my 89 upper deck set and my 89 score fb set came from him. I would bet also that the others who are working on those sets in 10 also got most from him. He is an outstanding person and has agreat eye on cards'

    EOMINT,

Do you have a link or website? I checked the site and the only auction I saw was from March 25, 2004. Maybe I have the old website?
  • The auction isnt up yet, he is just taking consignments, I got an email to that effect.

There is a two page ad in the latest SMR. The auction date is March 24, 2005. The website www.superiorsports.com has yet to be updated.

I have bought many PSA graded cards from Joe in the past - no complaints. I have also sold him some PSA 8 graded cards, which I am sure were crossover candidates to other grading companies, so he knows how to play the game.

The only problem I ever had on a transaction with Joe was receiving a '75 Topps mini PSA 8 common in a badly broken slab. The slab was in the middle of a stack of undamaged slabs in a well protected and padded box, and the card appeared undamaged, so my guess is that the left side of the slab was broken before it was packed. On the other hand, he sent me a PSA 9 '68 Topps common in that same package when I had won a PSA 8 of the same player. That evens things out nicely. image

I have had 3 of 4 transactions with Mr. Tuttle and never had any problems. As a matter of fact just recently I had forgotten to pay for a auction I won and only noticed it because I was leaving feedback for the other recent auctions I won. Joe was real nice and patient for me to send him the payment......and I mean it was almost a month past the auction ended. he accepted my apology and was very pleasant. And they were PSA cards too!
I am on a budget and I am not afraid to use it!!
