Signing a petition will do nothing, the only way to bring them down is to no longer use them, they will be forced to either lower their prices or go out of service. And not using them for a week will have no effect.

Ray is totally correct. I wonder how many people will actually stop listing on eBay. Or even reduce the number of items they list.

FWIW, I closed my piddly little eBay store down yesterday, after recieving the e-mail notice of the rate increases. I know it won't make much difference to them, but my $9.95 (or now, $15.95) will not continue to be donated to them.

Yeah, the petition is mostly symbolic but publicity, if enough sign it, may help.
Is this thread or a similar on any of the other collecting Forums?

More taxes, more laws, more rules. Less money in our pockets, less freedom, less leeway and humanity. It makes me want to retreat to life in an episode of the Andy Griffith Show. Reality sux some days (more and more). Good thing I have a hobby, huh?

I sent an email to eBay and got a BS response. Here is my respone to that:

Hello,

Blah! Blah! Blah! Nothing you can say justifies doubling final value fees like you did. Greed-Bay is a cash cow now as is and all you are going to do with these increases is put the small business owners out of business and drive buyers away with ever increasing prices. 10,000 plus and growing signatures can't be wrong:

I doubt that it would do any good,,A better idea is to buy the stock. Higher fees are bigger profits.

My Ebay Store was closed also. Shortly after it was closed the Blah, Blah, Blah email arrived. No effort was wasted to reply. I am just waiting for the live phone call that may come like it did the last time the store was closed. (Closed because it was summer time and car parts do not sell well in the summer)

Then I'll Blast them with some choice comments.

I would be real content to buy from people on the forums and to tell eBay to get screwed.

It is frustrating. I am unhappy about this as well. As I said in aethelred's thread, many sellers are already realizing smaller profits without these fee increases, so they're already getting squeezed out.

Boycotts aren't going to work, though. They almost never do. Even the boycott of South Africa by the world didn't stop apartheid - it came to an end because a more viable alternative emerged.

Time to post a separate thread on this.

It's buried down the page - when u find it, it looks like only Ebay Motors are changing.

Hmm, so they're basically doubling their take on every auction. How....er....."nice" of them.

Their stock dropped 4 points or so upon learning of this increase. Their EPS is 34 cents and they will announce earnings this week. This could be interesting from that stand point.

If they come in ahead of estimate, this fee increase truly is nothing but 100% pure greed.
