image

Who can cough up a freebie for a new Darksider, huh?

I would, but I don't have one at the moment.

Actually, Churchill IS the reverse. The obverse has the young head of QE2.

Shamika is who liked it. (Actually, XPipedream also PM'ed me and expressed an interest in them, too.)

Who'dve thought the much-maligned Churchill crown would be such a great Darkside recruiting tool? imageimage

...and you can always win a coin toss with a Churchill crown, as long as you choose "heads"! image

Seriously, Xpipedream PM'ed me asking if they were silver or cupronickel, and how hard they were to find.

Let's put it this way: the Churchill crown was the only British coin in plentiful supply at the San Jose coin show last weekend. Seriously.

That could be a challenge. I've seen some 65's in slabs, but making a 67 would be tuff indeed, I would imagine.

I doubt that he'll ever find an MS67 Churchill. That would be pretty amazing given the mass production process of the coins of that era.

I've never even seen this coin before, I must say it does have an odd match, usually an obverse compliments the reverse somewhat... this one seems to clash.

I'll be looking for an example next time I make it to one of the thrift shops or if I can actually find a freaking coin shop image

Exactly! I personally collect Buffalo nickels because I not only like the design of both the obverse and reverse, but because the two sides so compliment one another.

I will settle for a MS66. I've never seen any of them slabbed.

I would say that the obverse and reverse clash badly. But you guys really don't like the design of the Churchill side?

Ok, I'll admit it, I like the design of the Churchill crown. It is refreshingly different from the usual full frontal or profile portrait so often used.
