This is my first major show and Wow, it is great! I have met Legend, JB, Newmismatist, Tonelover, Lablover and Andy L. Most of the CU forum vets already know this but all these members have AMAZING coins! This is really fun stuff for me. I got to show them a few of my nicer ones too. I hope to meet lots more members during the rest of the show.
I've done pretty well so far, I think. I am mainly a collector and I concentrate on moose-toned, certified, MS and proof US coinage. But I could not pass up this raw Peace dollar. I gave it to NGC today for a $100 show walkthrough but I think it is a 64* 1924-p. It has the finest album toning I have ever seen on a Peace dollar - if it were a Morgan, it would go for $3-400 in common date just for the toning. So, you know what that means for a Peace dollar! I am excited. I wish I had pics for you all but I'm not quite that savvy with the digi cameras.
I also scored on the coolest 1921 NGC MS-63 Peace dollar. The most attractive monochromatic lustrous gunmetal blue/grey I have ever seen. It may not sound great on the description but it is really pleasant to look at!
I bought an entire set of Jeffersons that includes to date proofs and some extras. The toning on about 8 of them will bring back at least 5 times what I paid for the set...unreal toning on the 39-D...wowser!
Got a monster SAE that used to be a plate coin (?) for a Goldberg auction catalogue...wild, wild neon purple (NT without a doubt).
Also got a sweet deal on a Morgan reverse WELL defined end roll toner - vibrant and extremely colorful NGC 64 reverse up. Paid $90! Grip it and RIP it!
More updates to come soon. Thanks for reading!
