Ebay Morons

Have you ever listed a lot, have someone snipe it, and then ask you to replace one of the items in the lot with something else because they don't want it or tell you that they really don't want some of the items, so can you take them out and lower the price?

Collectors and dealers as a whole are conditioned to negotiate. I wouldn't get too offended. They probably figure the worst you can do is say no and it doesn't cost them anything to ask. As long as they dont reneg on the purchase, it's no big deal.

Making small concessions can build customer loyalty for big dealers. You just need to weigh the cost/benefit.

  • When people post lots it is to get rid of things they don't want that won't probably sell on their own. What is the sense of bidding on something if you don't want it? I mean, pretend you are selling a huge lot of cards and someone tells you they don't want the common cards can you replace them with star cards, isn't that senseless? You can't tell me that you would say sure and do it. Lots are always filled with the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly, but they usually sell for reasonable prices making everything worth buying. Example, I would love to find a seller that lists a lot of 10000 cards. The lot sells for $100 and contains one card that I want and it usually sells for $50 on average. I would then contact the seller and ask them to sell me that one card for $.01 because I don't want the other cards and that is what the price of each card came out to.

The fact of the matter is it is pointless to waste the sellers time with such garbage after they got a great deal on the lot as it is.
