99+% of my posts are placed on the U.S. Coins Forum, but I just noticed a really cool looking coin of Churchill that was posted by lordmarcovan.
It got me thinking of what other cool coins might be out there that I know nothing about, thus my first thread on this forum.
Show me what you got!

Welcome to the Darkside, Shamika!
I should have warned you that the 1965 Churchill crown is something of a laughingstock on the Darkside, like the SBA dollar or Shriver commemorative is on the Liteside. Many people pick them as their choice of ugliest world coin, but the Cook Island "God of Fertility" dollars that MadMarty collects would have my vote on that score.
The Churchill crown is a very common coin, was struck in copper-nickel, and should be available in Uncirculated condition for a buck or so. In fact, since it is the coin that brought you over here, I propose that some generous Darksider should give you one! (I would myself, but I currently don't have any at the moment- that was a borrowed picture.)
It might make y'all laugh to know that Shamika's interest in the Churchill crown was not the only such interest my posting drew. Another Lightsider PM'ed me and asked about them: how hard they were to find, whether they were silver or copper-nickel, etc.!
Here's my "cool looking" Darkside entry for this post. It's in the 1901 Victorian collection I am building for my daughter. (Whose name is Victoria, born in 2001).
It's a tiny little sucker.

You're kidding me, right? Churchill may not have had Clint Eastwood's good looks, but I love the oblique angle that the coin shows him. I seriously like the design!
Prepare for some abuse!
<LordM whispers confidentially> It is kinda neat for a modern design, actually. </whisper>
Maybe along with all the abuse that is about to be heaped upon you, a free Churchill crown will come out of it, too...
C'mon Darksiders... I know y'all have 'em... and if you hate 'em as much as you say, surely somebody can cough up a freebie for Shamika, here!
I DOUBLE-DAWG DARE YOU!

I guess I don't have a future on the darkside.
I'm sorry, but how can anyone NOT like this coin???
It even looks a little like me.
I think it's cool that a Churchill brought you to the Darkside.
Secretly, I kinda like the coin, because it's bigger than a US dollar, and it's from my birthyear. (Sir Winston's deathyear.)

Let's just say it wasn't the high point of coin art.

Maybe the font is kind of lousy. But the way Churchill's image blends into the fields is really neat. It's pure genious!
(But newsman has a right to slam it, I suppose, since he's the one who volunteered to send you one...)
OH MY GOD! I just saw the opposite side of the coin and the contrast is HORRIBLE!
Nothing against Queen Elizabeth, but her younger image DOES NOT compliment the image of a crusty old Churchill.
I'm sooooo disappointed.

Ahhh, you're just chickening out, now! Byock! Byock!
You HAVE to take his freebie, now!
Think of the artistic possibilities...
Thanks newsman.

I can not like it with one hand tied behind my back

But i think if you want to experience the Darkside you need to see just one coin...
But are they ready for it? Some members might have already figured out what's missing, if i say 1847 and crown i think the remaining experience darksiders will know what i mean.
Sadly i don't have one, but i've seen plenty... can't afford any of them though.
A picture of one would be appreciated.
