WTB - Grading Guide

I'm looking for a gently used (or new) grading guide(s) for a good price. If you have one (Photograde, PCGS, ANA) please PM me and give me a price with the shipping. I'd prefer to pay with PayPal (checking account, not credit card) so I can get it shipped right away but that's not a requirement.

Thanks,
Millertime

  • Hi Millertime

I am a new poster here on the boards...been reading for a couple of months, then finally decided to register. You are looking for price guides? I bought the new PCGS book on grading and counterfiting last week at Barnes and Noble...took about week to come in

Are you anywhere near a B&N?

If not, let me know...i can make arrangements and check around for you in my local area to see what price guides are available here in Western MA

( I have the new 2005 Coin World Price guide by my computer for example, next to me)

    Gary,

I checked B&N online and didn't their website said that the Photograde was out of stock. The ANA used was $40 to $140 and I couldn't find the PCGS Book. I'm not looking for a pricing guide, just a grading guide. I'm going to try to check out the local B&N store on Sunday or Monday and see if I can get lucky. If I don't find one I'll let you know and maybe you can check for me. Thanks for the offer.

    Thanks

  • Hey Millertime

Believe it or not, I found the ANA book and Photograde at my public library. Have a couple of more weeks with those 2, unless I renew them. I dont care for Photograde, as it is dated and it only covers up to Almost Circulated grading. No more information from MS60 to MS70

    BUT

Here is info concerning the PCGS book...Ordered it my local B&N store, and it took about a week to come in

"Offical Guide to COin Grading and Counterfeit Detection" Second Edition

    Edited by Scott A. Travers

    If needed:

    ISBN: 0-375-72050-2
    UPC: 9-780375-720505-51995
    Publisher: House of Collectibles

Hope that helps...I feel the PCGS book is superior to all others, though the Photograde and ANA serve as a good "secondary" opinion

    Thanks Gary,

Using your info I found it right away on the B&N website and it even says it will ship in 24 hours. I don't know why I had such a tough time finding it. That's a good tip about the library, I'll have to try it. Thanks for the help.
