Do you think the offering of this collection will get non-world coin collectors interested in that series, or will the audience mainly be current world collectors? What do you think?

and that many bidders will be buyers that have never even collected or bought world gold before
and of course many world collectors
and dealers buying for more markup to their customers
make for an explosive event
evenmoreso if the price of gold climbs to over 450 an ounce due to the psychological factor

So yes, I think this sale will motivate some new people in this realm for sure.

Do I really see a set of pictures including two with direct finger/coin contact, and a third with PVC flips?
What the....
Second: Those plastic flips you see are the flips we use to store all raw coins for the viewing and sale process. We indicate on the insert that they are for viewing purposes ONLY and should not be used for storage.
Third: No links yet for viewing or bidding. We are still cataloguing those bad boys! We have a listing we are providing at viewing with a photo of the coin, the date, country, and other information, but the surface descriptions, histories, etc are not complete. The catalogue is due 6 weeks before the sale (April 18 and 19) and so expect to see the color photos, full descriptions, etc, on our website by the time the catalogue mails (which I am realizing is right around the corner). The catalogue will be full four color, too!
People like John K and Frank are practically cataloguing in their sleep there is so much to be done!
There isn't an ANR staffer who hasn't "touched" this collection in some way. Every person here has had something to do with the production, whether it be someone helping out in a spreadsheet rearranging the countries, someone sealing those coins one by one into those little holders, someone weighing those pieces (I could go on and on) this has been a tremendous team effort. We are all very much looking forward to the sale.

No slight intended if one was taken. I'm glad to hear there was no coin licking. I am only a collector (as opposed to an expert in the field). I guess I just thought touching coins, *any* coins was bad due to the risk of fingerprints.... is that only true for Silver coins? Or is that just what professionals and seat-of-the-pants-risk-taking-bungie jumping-Xtreme coin collecters do.
JK was actually demonstrating the correct way to handle a raw coin. If he hadn't we would have ostracized him and never let him hear the end of it.
