Well here we are. Let's get this party started!

How many and what kind - bags/rolls -of the new Bison nickel do you plan to get? How fast do you think the mint will sell out of all rolls/bags? I predict they will go pretty darn fast.

I don't intend to get any either but this looks like a safe prediction.

It will get even more interesting when the buffalo quarter is released later in the year.

There will be a buffalo on one of the two new circulating nickels this year. It will
feature the new obverse design for the nickel which will, presumably, be used for
the foreseeable future on the nickel. The other will be an ocean view of the Pacific.

The Kansas quarter will also feature a buffalo. It looks like one of the better state's
designs but can't hold a candle to the nickel.

  • I plan to get some of the new nickels just because of the change. Ofcourse I realize everyone is doing this so it not for value.

I will get the state quarters for the rest of the series. This is what got me back into coin collecting like soo many others.

I always use to collect from circ. when I was younger and stopped for no good reason other than lack of focus. Now I have this thing for Dollars and Capped bust halves.

And anything else that catches my eye.

I won't buy any from the Mint at a premium.

However, I have a box ordered from two different banks.

I think this design will be a winner.
The most money I made are on coins I haven't sold.

    Got quoins?

Present image I'm not going to bother with the mint rolls. I had a bad experience with the Keelboat nickels. I'll just settle for the new Buffs in the mint and proof sets, where I can see them. image

I've not heard of any of this.

Buyer and seller of vintage coin boards!
  • I'll get them if some of the slab companies put the new nickels in sample slabs.

    Cameron Kiefer
  • I agree with cammy, get the slab-not the nickel! More potential there.image

Definitely going to get smoe for me, probably 2 rolls of each mint and a couple of rolls for singles to pass around. So far, I have received ONE stinkin WJ nickel in change and it was the peace, not even a keelboat...what's the deal? And I have only received 12 Tx. state quarters in change (yes, I save them). Do the northerners get all the cool mintage or does it all get picked off between here and the Denver mint?

  • Mr. Hammer Man, if you want keelboat nickles, go to your bank. You can get a roll at face value. That's what I did.
  • the banks around here are SO out of keelboats. I just got back from my first massage ever due to neck problems and it was so great ... going back again in a couple weeks. I left her a pile of Kennedy halves for a tip. She liked 'em. image

Now let's get this party started - ya'll may have to hold down the fort - I am off to the recliner to continue the healing process.

It won't hold a candle to Fraser, but I will pick up a couple of rolls ... at face value from the bank. The mintage on these things will be astronomical.
