Very interesting site. But, how easy is it going to be for anyone to really challenge ebay in our hobby. Like PSA, people will stick to the product that will maximize their return.

The site owners seem to be taking the sports memorbilia category pretty seriously. Minimum starting bid in the sports card category will be .99. This will keep peopel from listing junk as on Bidville and will also help sellers get decent prices for their cards by not competeing with the one cent bandits.

I am going to sign up to be in the initial launch and see how it goes, I will not stop my Ebay sales yet. I think if they can draw the buyers in from the start it will do good.

I just sent the owner a question regarding card grading companies and counterfeit cards. We will see what their response is.

Here are some things I do know

All buyers and seller will have to be verified with a CC.

There are at least 500 sellers that will be allowed an early access to the site to set up for the roll out on the 18th.

No listing fees

The owner is a sportscard collector so he is taking special interests in this area.

Anyone who sells a counterfeit card or a reprint as the real thing will be immedialy banned and their IP blocked from the site.

He would love to be able to restrict graded cards to being PSA, GAI, Beckett and SGC.

I am going to be there for the opening and will give it a shot, but will not give up all my Ebay items yet. Hopefully this site will do things the right way.

Who knows? Even Ebay started small once, and wouldn't it be great if they had some competition?

I went to to a look..BUT..received message that it's not a secure site and did I wish to continue. NOPE!

Closed out and did a spyware scan/removal immediately.

I'll check back every few weeks, but won't go into the site until it's secure.

Perhaps I have my security settings set higher than you have yours. Mine are all set to maximum....one is "Warn if changing between secure and not secure mode". Plus I run 3 spyware/adware programs.
