In case you haven't heard, Huggins and Scott Auctions World Wide Internet/Telephone Auction will be available online beginning January 15th, with 180-page full color catalogs mailing on Jan. 19th.
This auction is loaded with PSA Graded T206's including 3 PSA NM-MT8's: Jack Barry (Philadelphia), Harry Hinchman (Toledo), Lou Fiene (Portrait)
There are also several lower pop PSA NM 7's and many, many PSA EX-MT 6's and 5's. The collection that we obtained was absolutely stunning, and many, many of the cards are on the higher side of the grade (most of the 5's look like 6's, etc...).
If you're upgrading your T206 set, this is an auction that you will not want to miss.
Feel free to email us with your name and address and we will be happy to send you a free catalog. Click Here to email us!
If you'd like to visit the auction site, you can go to: www.hugginsandscott.com
Items will be able to be viewed and bid on beginning Jan. 15th, but you must register first on our site.
If anyone has any questions, please feel free to give us a call on our toll free number:

not too much in the way of '68 football...there are a couple of lots that have some '68 football included, but no complete sets.
Golfcollector,
All items will be able to be viewed and bid upon beginning on January 15th.
MorrellMan,
I actually don't think it's spam at all. I think it's an informative post for people who regularly read this board, that there is an auction out there that can help them with their T206 sets. I'm sorry if it offended you.
If anyone else has any questions, please feel free to email, post here or give us a call.
thanks

Oh, in that case, a thousand pardons. I didn't realize you were just trying to add to the information stream - silly me, I thought you were touting your auctions. Sorry.
"All evil needs to triumph is for good men to do nothing."
But, also, in the past my understanding is that a lot of board people feel that "anyone" that posts their info across every forum would get some kind of a "spam" reminder for over-kill. Is this my understanding and if so, I don't think MorrellMan meant any personal disrespect. To add, his auction info was posted not once but twice in the nonsport forum. (edit add)
I was wondering if I am accurate. This is not a challenge or anything - I'm just curious.

If your only posts are advertisements - and, judging by the low number of posts you've got here, it's safe to that's true - then, yeah, it's spam.

I agree! Telling us that an auction is coming up is not informative in the sense of "insight" but rather informative with respect to "sales" and if that is all one does in that context, then it's spam. As I said before, he came over to the nonsport forum and made a "separate thread" announcing the sale of nonsport cards and also jumped into a thread dealing with the posting of pics of our favorite cards. If that is informative, I'll eat the spam and the can!
Mark, aka MorrellMan is a good guy.

If this is against policy or offends some people, please accept my apologies. I still think that this auction will aid anyone with their T206 Graded Sets.
Again, no offense was intended.
Josh
Just to set the record straight, I don't know you from Adam and I have nothing against you or your auctions. I do have a problem with the fact that your posts are about nothing other than your auctions. There is a time and place for everything - others can correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe this PSA message board is an ad-free zone, where collectors can get together and talk about cards without having a salesman trumpet his way in. Your spamming here smacks of opportunism, regardless of how altruistic you want to spin it. I may have no problem with the Democratic party ticket, but I don't want to see a campaign banner for it in my kid's poli-sci class. Please don't take this opportunity to again state that you're a PSA dealer with X amount of PSA graded cards - I am offended by that.
Good luck to you.

<< <i>Gotta love the nazi board patrols...let the mods handle it...I think I find your HUGE spam photo a lot more offensive than someone advertising their auction. >>
I agree. The guy already apologized. No big deal.
That was unfair and disappointing, not to mention offensive. No one is trying to police the boards as such.
As MorrellMan said, there is a time and place for everything. I have seen in the past, where over-kill announcement - i.e. posting all over the place has been deemed "spam" by the proponderance of board members.
Jay
Putting your ad in the sig line is not the same as posting all over the boards. No one wants to see that. If every auction house and dealer here started to do that, the conversation would get flooded with sales rhetoric and get pretty busy. Also, IMO, there is a forum for that and to be specific, I did not mind the post of the sale in the nonsport forum as such - it was the additional post in a thread which had nothing to do with the content.
I hope I have cleared up my position on this - I rarely get involved in this kind of thing. I hope I haven't appeared argumentative.

its a little bit different when several threads are started simply for the reason of promoting ones own auctions..
as a new member here, i got chewed out for posting 1 single spam thread.. the response i got was a post with a page full of "SPAMSPAMSPAMSPAM".. for some reason, the idiot that posted it doesnt post in these forums anymore..
It wasn't directed at you as it was at morrell...the guy made a mistake, and the guy who's auctions it were has readily apologized. Why are threads like this singled out, but people like morrell let people have their ebay auctions in their signatures with no recourse for them? Seems kind of hypocritical to me.
Morrell...instead of a huge graphical reminder (which is a lot more harmful, especially to those folks on dialup), post a small, polite reply such as 'typically these types of posts are viewed as spam...and should be posted in the b/s/t or vintage forums'. It *might* make you seem less hostile and eager for a fight.
Understand your point on the dial up thing - I do sympathize with ya partner. As I said, having it in your sig line, the ad is there and can be ignored - but I think - we have to be careful about a "multitude" of guys going directly into the reply end of the house with advertising that is not relevant to the informative content of a thread - big difference in my mind.
You are correct, the guy did apologize but his justification was not relevant to thread content.
I have nothing against the guy - don't know him at all - and finally, there's a difference between our own friends here breaking in with a deal and having an unexpected guest jump in.
I understand how you feel about the large pics - I had a really large pic at Christmas time - based on your input, I think I'll try to find a smaller scene next year.
Take care

edit: BTW, as a kid growing up in NYC - my first phone number was Axtell 7-0759! No lie and a great memory for me - Does everyone remember their first phone number? My mom made us memorize it for fear of being lost and stupid!
"...please accept my apologies. I still think that this auction will aid anyone with their T206 Graded Sets."
Isn't that like saying "sorry I stepped on your foot. I still think I had a right to step on it."
..."but people like morrell let people have their ebay auctions in their signatures with no recourse for them?
Axtell - what's your problem? I'm not "letting" people do anything. I stated my opinion. So's who's the Nazi here?
edited: aw this is nuts - how bout those Mets?

What's the origin of that expression? Everytime my mom would start b'tching about this or that, me and my brother used to say....how bout those mets!
Now that is funny.
Steve
I didn't know you spoke Spanish!
That was my first phone number.
I think if you dial that number today, you'll hear a recording of a LIST OF MY PSA GRADED VINTAGE BASEBALL CARDS FOR SALE RIGHT NOW!!!!
