Randy Moonshine Moss...much ado about nothing

Randy Moss is not a classy guy and I don't defend or support his actions. But whats all the fuss about?

Randy celebrated his game icing touchdown by pretending to moon the Packer fans. No doubt his actions precipitated by the fact that a group of Packer fans have a long tradition of congregating around the Viking team bus and mooning the Players as they leave the stadium after every home victory. Really mooning them, not pretending. Moss kept his clothes on and gave a heat of the moment celebration that was not pre meditated. Not classy. Not something Peyton Manning would do. Not right. But only a big deal because it was Moss. The sportscasters jumped all over it like starving pack of wolves.

Besides, how many of you can really say they don't find mooning to be funny?

Moss routinely celebrates his touchdowns by finding a sick or retarded child in a wheelchair and making his life by sticking the ball in his lap. Never heard Howie Long talk about that.

TO plants a sharpie in his sock, signs the ball and gives it to his financial advisor. Completely pre- meditated, and selfish and everybody things it's cute.

Ray dirtball Lewis witholds evidence in a double murder case and all the sportscasters can talk about is how great a leader he is. He has a commercial playing on every channel. The NFL doesn't even suspend the slimeball.

Moss is not polite. He's not a leader. He has a problem with authority.

He's not the kind of guy I want to date my sister. But I'll take him on my team any time, and don't kid yourself, so would every other team in the NFL.

Its pretty sad when you have to compare his actions to those of Lewis and TO...but you are
right, he does belong with them all. That kind of stuff has a way of coming back and biting
    you in the *ss...ask TO

I have always been a fan of TO even when he was a Niner. I didn't have a problem with what Moss did, and actually thought it was pretty clever .... I am sure TO did as well.

Ray Lewis. He is another story. TO (and Moss to a degree) get lambasted when they celebrate. Ray Lewis is a punk. He may be a murderer. Why the media isn't all over him is beyond me.

All the TO bashers out there who feel the same way I do about Ray Ray had to think that the TO "Lewis" celebration was right on.

    Admit it.

  • Moss is a showboat and a hotdog, but who the heck cares if he does a little dance like that. It is not like he actually dropped his pants. I agree with vikesfan40, this is a lot of hype and whining about NOTHING. Let's all move on to something more important.

Moss certainly has his issues but the media reaction - like Joe Buck's - to the feigned mooning was a complete joke. On the list of the top 100 disgusting things in sport, yesterday's end zone celebration couldn't have been higher than 78.

    JoeStalin,

Your "ring counts" and Buc SB win justify all the reasons why I didn't want the Bucs to win the Super Bowl BEFORE the Vikings.

I would puke --- literally --- if the Falcons won it this year. I have a bet with a couple friends that the Vikings will win one before them and I cannot stand the thought of anymore teams winning the SB before the Vikings.

    Jealous? You betcha!
    Enjoy your collection!

not only did we win but we punked everyone we played in the playoffs. We were clearly
better than everyone else. You all got a good start this past week, what I was most
impressed by was your defense, you can't give up 4 touchdowns every game and still
    win.

    Good Luck

A few weeks ago on Inside the NFL Jim Brown said,

"I don't understand the logic of celebration, because it is not natural emotions that are flowing.
But some of it is cute and some of it is buffoonery and some of it is stereotypical things we tried so long, as African-Americans, to get rid of.
And I just hate to see it now because it means that these young men sometimes don't understand that they are imitating history and that history was a negative thing."

Moss may of not been 'bare assed', but he was an embarrassment ...

  • I wouldn't say his actions are as bad as Tyson taking a bite out of crime, I mean a bite out of Holyfield. It's low class, and definitely not in the conservative direction the No Fun Leauge likes to take. I think it would have been perfect for the XFL though.

I wonder what the opinion would be of this threads author if his name happened to be Packer fan? Hmmmmm.image

He was an embarassment way before this stunt. I suspect he is a flat out moron, but the reaction to this particular stupid move from this idiot is just way too overblown. His is a child. End of story.
  • The NFL should give Moss a medal for pretending to moon those cheeseheads. They deserved it. They always do it to the losing team when the bus pulls out of Lambeau. Yeah, thats a classy bunch them Packers fans. Couldn't have happened to a nicer bunch of rednecks! I know how Randy feels about Green Bay, believe me, he would have liked to do much worse but didn't. He was cool, calm, and collective and just let them know in a manner that Green Bay fans can understand that he just scored a touchdown in their house. Hey, this is the NFL, not Masterpiece Theatre. Go with the flow!image

    Well said 2323
  • Do you really know your sports hero?

Mr. Manning and Mr. Moss may have something more in common than just being great football players.
