The high priced one is for "Full Steps" and the lower priced one is for those with a weaker strike. 1954-S Jeffersons are rarely ever seen with full strike details of the steps on the Jefferson Monument (reverse side). When the strike is outstanding, you should be able to make out 5 or 6 complete steps.

  • Well mine has no steps because it's worn. All of the lettering is in great condition on obverse and reverse. It does seem like the building sticks out further than the rest of the coin...maybe thats why it is worn. Thanks for the info.

    blastpak,

The full step (FS) designation is only important for mint state Jeffersons.
