Logan McKenchie reported last night he picked up an ultra-rare 1889 VAM-23A ('IN' neck clash)...grading AU55/58.
I think this is only the second one ever discovered. There's a photo in the back of the 1997 VAM Book of the original. Congrats to Logan (vamsandmore on eBay). He's promised scans later today, as he will not be at FUN apparently.

If my count is correct, this is example #3. One is a VF-ish problem coin that sold in 2004 back east and the other is a VF with no problems.
edited to add: I misread the post thinking the Morgan in question was 1880 not 1889.

Sorry, my mistake. It's an 1889-VAM-23A, not 1880. The 1880 clash vam is 32A, so it's confusing.
