Bazooka Boxes

I have several full Bazooka boxes that I have thought about submitting for grading. I know they grade the panels and clearly I don't want to turn whole boxes into partial boxes (panels). DOes anybody have any experience with these? Are they tall boy? Over-sized? Super-sized?
Would like to buy a clue.

They won't grade the box, if they're the same size Bazooka made in 1971. The panel alone takes the biggest holder PSA has -- other than the T3 cabinets, which PSA won't use for anything but T3's, I believe. GAI might slab it for you. They have holders for vending cases. They'd probably slab your car, if you asked 'em to.

I wanted my '71 Bazooka panel slabbed bad enough that I cut the box. Here's the progression:

  • jr- what did you use to cut it and how did you go about it?

I used a lever-type paper cutter. It's difficult at first to get a straight, even cut that's parallel to the dotted line, but you get the hang of it. PSA wants a cut that's close to the dotted lines without touching them. Start a little farther out on all sides until you have most of the box cut away, then work your way in until you have nice straight cuts on all 4 sides and the panel is centered (and not tilted) between them. Remember that PSA is going to grade the corners even on a hand-cut issue.
  • Thanks JR.
Not what I was hoping to hear but I appreciate the answer.
    Nice panel by the way.

  • I understand that GAI will grade these, box and all; as long as you don't mind a klugy looking holder. The holder is made of flimsy plastic, about the size of a license plate.
