Post a picture of a coin you would like to buy, captures your imagination, is interesting, your consigned coin, or any friggin' coin that is being auctioned at the FUN show this week. The only requirement is that the coin must up for auction at B&M, Superior, ANR, or Heritage. My six year old son, who collects buffalo nickels, will help me judge.
The prize is a copy of the classic and much beloved book, Bowers' "Adventures With Rare Coins". It's a wonderfully readable book about coins, history, romance, adventure, and coins.
The winner will be chosen in the evening of January 11 (before bedtime ). The contest will officially close at 6 PM central time on January 11 (Tuesday evening). Edits okay (mgoodm3-this means you!) until the contest deadline.
Now post some cool coins!

1818 O-108, RARITY-1, AU58 BUST HALF
Mostly brilliant surfaces with much mint lustre still remaining. Light magenta and gray toning around the borders. Fairly well struck. A pleasing example of the date and variety.

1836 First Steam Coinage PR65 NGC. J-MT-21(B). The obverse depicts a cap with LIBERTY surrounded by rays, similar in design to contemporary Gold Dollar pattern. The reverse legends are UNITED STATES MINT 1836/FIRST/STEAM/COINAGE/MAR. 23. A boldly struck and nearly pristine deep golden-brown piece. A die break (as made) is centered at 7 o'clock
Sorry to say, this one has gotten out of my price range!

This is the best that I can do:
The winner expresses his sincere appreciation for your creating such a nice contest! The prize is generous and will be much appreciated The judge obviously has excellent taste in rare coins. I have to admit, I expected I would win. Who can top a USA $20 High Relief Wire Rim Saint in PF 67 ?!
Thanks again
