Hey VAM guys--Check out my new toy!

Stopped in ToyzRus yesterday and picked up a QX3 toy microscope on sale for $37. It took these pictures, no camera or scanner involved, I just exported them to Photobucket. In the first hour I found a bunch of cool stuff on coins I have owned for years but was never able to see this before. Opens up a whole new world:

    Neat coins. The 1921 die break over the last A in AMERICA is a VAM-32A. The obverse stars to the right of the date should be doubled as well (5 and 6th counting right from the date are the strongest doubling). Very cool variety!

    You can't beat that for $37, and the images are great. Here's about as close as I can get.

    Some folks on this forum recommend that you hacksaw the lip at the bottom of the scope to get closer to coins that are slabbed..It works!

    Leave it to DorkGirl to not only find the coolest new toy for us to buy but then she goes out and beats the ToysRus people down and gets one on sale!!
    She'll probably write this off on her taxes as a school supply as well!!image

    I priced one of these Intel Qx3 computer microscopes online and the best price I found was around $50-...I ordered one anyway!!

    Our Toys R Us went out of business and I bought one for 17 dollars! My pics aren't nearly as good though and I wonder if I should read the instructions! Maybe I missed something!

    wow, very detail and nice picture. I am also planning to buy of these QX3 or QX5. But too bad that I live in Canada, and there is no supplies in Canada yet. Hope it will show up in Canada soon.

    got my qx5 for christmas and have been happily going over my coins ever since. amazing what you can see and do. will have to try trimming the piece down for slabbed coins
