Obsolete ? Silver dollars

Auction I found interesting.
Postage rate increased from 2c to 3c in 1932/3 era

So, if I am reading this auction right, Peace and Morgan dollars were
obsolete when the old engineer put them in this envelope in 1932/3.

I thought you could still get them at the bank in the 60s.

Pretty though. Nice Photos. Wonder if the look that good in person.

Well, the Peace dollars were not obsolete, they were still minting them up to 1935. And yes you could still get silver dollars in change in the early sixties. So my take is there is a little hype going on, so take it with a grain of salt.image

Agreed - and also - the seller knows how to point them toward the light so that blemishes are hidden - in addition they look like they've been cleaned - so no - not a good deal.
