All these posts about varieties- holy canoli !!! Just for the records, I look for varieties (on all denominations), and I too only get excited about varieties I can see without magnification also. Here is a 72 DDO-#3 I believe, which is not as strong as the biggie, but nice nevertheless.
Some coins are just plain "Interesting"

BTW, 1972 was also a good year for errors, it is one of the two most common dates for clipped planchets (1944 being the other). I don't have a picture, but in my collection are two or three Die#3 DDOs with clips. There are also broadstruck examples of Die#3 around, John Wexler pictured one in his first book on Lincoln Cent doubled dies.
