What would you do????

Background, collect Trade Dollars and am a serious variety collector (yeah, I know, what a geek...what a pointless pursuit....etc.). Anyway, I was recently offered a 1875-S/CC in the second variety (hard to believe but there were 2 over mintmarks produced). Here's the rub (excuse the pun). The coin is in a PCI gold slab but has obviously been cleaned.

- Do I crack it out (because I do not care for PCI slabs) and put it in a NCS slab?
- Do I put it in a Net Anacs Slab?
- So I leave it alone?
- Do I pass on the coin (but so far this is a R6-7 coin)

Family, kids, coins, sports (playing not watching), jet skiing, wakeboarding, Big Air....no one ever got hurt in the air....its the sudden stop that hurts. I hate Hurricane Sandy. I hate FEMA and i hate the blasted insurance companies.

Don't know... how bad is the cleaning? Are there hairlines resulting from the cleaning? Posting a picture may help (if that is possible). If it is truly that rare, it may be along long time before another one comes along.

I would pass and keep looking for a problem-free example... but that's just me.
    When in doubt, don't.
  • Definately buuy it... personally, I'd crack it and keep it raw... though, I would consider ANACS, just to have it authenticated, and also so it'd be ready for future resale...

    Use ANACS.
