Dthigpen and Lordmarco...what do you guys think of coins with two holes in 'em? I know you love holed, but can there be too many holes in a holed coin to make it undesirable for the 'holey' crowd?

George has one in the shop that has eight holes drilled in it!
Hey Ken, Sometimes you see really great coins that are never even noticed because they have holes in them and are overlooked. Nice bunch of holed coins you got there. I wouldn't buy an ubber rare pop 1 rarity with a hole, but you can get some great coins- like some nice bust coinage- at great prices, coins that you may never be able to afford otherwise.

You are correct. There are a lot of very nice coins out there with holes!
I have a few two-holed pieces, but if they're like that, I prefer 'em top-and-bottom rather than side-by-side. Those 3cN's were obviously on a bracelet at one time.
I heartily approve of your junk, K. Nicely done.
Strangely, the Barber dime is my favorite. Generally you just don't see as much holey Barber stuff as you do holey Seated stuff.
The one 3cN, seated quarter, and barber dime had attempts made to repair the holes. I simply ran a very small drill into the fix material and cleaned the hole out!

Did you get them because they had holes or because they were cheap ?
Looks like some fun stuff!

I noticed that the hole is rectangular, which could indicate it was made by an old square nail.

Most likely the hole was made by a square nail. I wouldn't venture a guess as to when though!

Bust halves seem to have been a favorite for holey coins!
