Interesting VAM find..84cc "Spiked Date"

ddbirdddbird Posts: 3,168 ✭✭✭
Heres a spiked date I found on my 84 cc. I was wondering if the spike off the 8 was more rare than the one off the 1. Anyone have any idea if this adds to the value or if this VAM carries a premium? Thanks kindly!

  • That's nice, whatever it is. Do you know what VAM it is? VAM-2 mentions strong die breaks at the bottom of the date digits. Looks more like a deep die chip from the picture (to me).

    EDITED:
just saw the description for VAM-4 with the spike off the 8.

I sold a slabbed spiked date 1884-CC a couple of years ago and didn't receive a thing extra for being a VAM.

Most every Morgan is a VAM, some just more rare than others...
