Another AT Kennedy

What do you guys think about this AT Kennedy. Looks like a deep broiled rainbow oven nugget.

I've handled dozens of those memorial holders and have never seen a coin that looked even remotely like the one in this auction.

  • Definitely looks a little "too good to be true", especially for a 64D. Most of the ones I've seen tend to be on the drab side with gold/brown toning.

Yea, he removed it all right. If he hadn't that plastic would have melted all over the place!
I've had great transactions with people like: drwstr123, CCC2010, AlanLastufka, Type2, Justlooking, zas107, StrikeOutXXX, 10point, 66Tbird, and many more!
  • Not everything is cooked - I have dozens of different examples, some very vibrant. This is one of my favorites:

True, but the coin in the auction certainly is.

  • As we say in the south - it just ain't right image
  • Yes...if it weren't for the spots on both front and back I would not have taken a stab at this one, but it sure looks like something was added.............
  • Rainbowroosie Just curious I'm still learning about AT coins and trying to do research paper on it. What would be used 100% sulpher or a household chemical with sulpher as the main agent in it. The reason I ask is that I have "cooked" a few Kennedys for my paper with basically the same results and have never thought about chemical toning. Any thoughts on the process?
