R.C. Bell's Token Books

If anyone wants to read up on the history and info behind the tokens. R.C. Bell's series of books is great for this. He put out a 6 volume series dealing mainly with Conder Tokens. All books are out of print but well worth the effort to find used copies. I am currently reading volume 6: "Political and Commemorative Pieces Simulating Tradesmen's Tokens 1170 - 1802"

This book has history of the period including some great information on Spence and Skidmore among other things.

I have 2 books from the series, the one you have and volume 5 Building Medalets of Kempson and Skidmore. I agree, they contain alot of interesting information. image
