Does anyone else here rent coins?

I have, and probably always will, turn over all of my collections frequently - bi-annually. I justify this to myself by thinking, I can't own all ten coins I want at one time, but two a year is cool. I sell 'em, or trade 'em and get the next two cool ones. I have probably broken even over the course of it all due to the fact that I am buying coins (or other collectibles) where demand is fairly consistant.

Thoughts?

Actually, in a way, we are all just renting our coins!

I do more of a long-term lease. Mine don't turn over much.

Every year or so, for the past three, I have pulled out coins that no longer fit my collecting themes and sell or trade them to get others that do. It is usually hard to pick these out and send them away (I purchased them becasue I like them), but once I do, I have no regrets afterward.

I have a coin on rent today. I bought a buffalo nickel with ebay's buyer credit program. I have until April to pay for it with no fee and no intrest.

I wonder if you could get PCGS to make you one? image

  • I usually buy with intent to hold forever unless I upgrade. However, I find that
every few years that some of my side interests change and I recycle those coins
    for the current interest.
