To the people crying about PSA's prices

PSA charges what they want to charge. It's called a free market economy. If you want their service you need to pay their price. If you don't like it, go to SGC or another grading company. Whining about it doesn't get you cheaper rates. I'm sure many of you will be offended by what I just said which is very childish so grow up. I think it is also hypocritical to badmouth PSA, then while no one is looking you use their services. Very sad.

Thanks for the economics lesson Bozo. It is actually more of a monopoly if you ask me

True, but this kind of Anti-corporate thought is just an opinion, to make things better, just like a free market economy.

i think there should be one flat rate..................first come first serve!!!no specials,no deals you pay for a membership and you mail your cards when you can afford to!!!!!! anything valued over 1000 should be submitted through a diffrent rate/service. so i guess there should be 2 services?i also think that they should get rid of the mylar sleeves and come up with some type of sleeve(not thick like beckett because it wrinkles the thin cards/stickers) that holds the odd ball sized/thin/disc type cards.

    HEH!

I, have never complained about PSA's pricing, but will now. I just thought it was annoying "star" cards, whcich is anything listed in SMR are more to grade. So for my set it cost me more to grade the Dodgers, than a regular common. SO I sent every card listed in SMR (1955 topps) postmarked by the 31st, at least they gave us some warning.
  • Please excuse me to ask yet another question. I am unfamiliar with PSA and crying. I have once heard that there is no crying in baseball so this conversation confuses me quite so. Please to explain?

It's called a message board, Einstein. In other words, this site is a "forum" for folks to voice their concerns, state their opinions, ask their questions, etc. Good Lord, if you actually feel the need to police the board, then you have real problems. This is a sports card collecting site. WTF.... Here's a bit of advice for you, if you don't like a post or thread, don't respond. In fact, just don't read those threads that you consider provocative. Personally, I think folks can post any darned thing they want to. I can choose not read accordingly. You may be the moron in need of growing up. Of course, if this is simply a way of "cleaver" trolling....the need is even more so. Laughable.

    Hey hypocrite. I...See...Thru...You...

Tell us to not complain, which is in your opinion is supporting PSA then on the other side of your big mouth you say go to SGC. Tell me were you eat lunch so I can avoid putting down some of the stupid sandwich's you been eating.

Its called United States of America. We have something here called Free Speech. Its a new concept. Its were you call me hypocrite, I call you hypocrite, you tell me to grow up, I tell you that you have a big mouth. Its really cool.

Then after its over we still use PSA . Not because of the pricing but because they still have the best system and their return is the strongest with the largest market

    Mike,

I hope PSA raises prices. I'm making way too much money
selling graded cards to people who buy a 9 that looks worse
    then an 8.

If they raise prices, then little guys like you will drop out,
hence, less cards on the market, therefore greater returns
    for me.

So I hope Joe and the staff decides to raise prices to 15 dollars
a card. The common pop reports will drop, and we get even richer.

    So no complaints here. image

I really think they (and their customers) need to offer more in the way of prices and less on turnaround times. For example, I would become a club member (and might submit cards image ) if they had something like $5/card - 90 days turnaround. But submitters are falling all over themselves when they see $12/card - 5 days turnaround that it only encourages them to go high margin.

  • Some of your responses were too funny. People who tell people to grow up, have a little growing up to do. What was that about freedom of speech? Learn to read the costitution. Freedom of speech exists in a public domain. This is not a public domain, meaning PSA can prevent you from saying what you want to say with something commonly known as deletion. This new guy needs to kiss your A** I think that's what the Klan tends to say to new member to from what I hear. You can shove that new menber needs to kiss our a**es before we accept him crap up your off centered sheet hood.

    costitution

I've looked all over the internet and can't locate the "costitution" As usual,I'm always interested in learning about new things. For example, what a costitution is.Is it a place where you have to be a paying member?

What is your point?Who are you telling off? I don't like current gas prices,or ebay fees, but hey,I gotta pay them like the rest of us.If PSA wants to charge umpteen million bucks per card, then fine.A collector like myself just won't submit.I'll be happy to pay and support the dealer for the cards I want from a company I can trust more than any other.Life goes on...

People who tell people to grow up, have a little growing up to do. Perhaps you should be looking in a mirror the next time this thought passes through your brain? You do have one don't you?

I'm sure many of you will be offended by what I just said which is very childish so grow up.

    Who said this????

All you've done is come out with your fists and nothing of real substance other than letting everyone know who really puts the "L" in loser, the "I" in idiot, the "F" in fool, the "J" in jerk and the "M" in moron.

    costitution

Rob, you must have safe search filters on your google... costitution is the act of a person selling one's body to provide sexual satisfaction to the individual paying for her services... judging by the way he is defending it, I would presume that "Iseeyou" is a costitute.

    Someone like this is allowed

    is not.

At the lunch in this past summer they asked us to keep it positive around here.As well, they made it a point to let us know they do in fact listen to what we have to say around here.

If your listening,I suggest that if David is going to get the boot then the half witt roid boy with his venmous adolesence should get shown to the door just because his first post was nothing short of negative.

  • Correcting a typo has got to be one of the most lame things around. Do you actually think someone would feel stupid because you caught a typo? You're the man, or the boy, rob e.

Robe I suggest you try group therapy for your hostility. No one came in here with their fists up. These were typed words. Your hostility to typed words of an opinion say a lot about you and anyone that agrees with you. If you want to be this big bad man you're trying to show off around your little friends here, why don't you show it off in Iraq? I wonder how quickly you will cry to go home when you see dead bodies all around you, and not a single one of them wants to hear what you have to say about someone's typo. L is for loser and the e in rob e stands for Everybody is reading, so let me try to look like a big shot.

For the pathetic that assume my non response after this post is because somebody zinged me, you are mistaken. It will be because I have better things to do than get into a childish argument with a child like rob e. I suggest a few of you do the same. Remember, there are people dying every day, and you little girls are out hear slapping each other as if someone's opinion was the be all and end all of your world.

    Love to you all

<< <i>This thread belongs in the crapper. >>

    Steve,
On a more interesting note than this thread...
Although Thomas Crapper, born in 1836, was a real person and DID have a successful plumbing career, most authorities agree that the common myth he invented the toilets we use today is simply not true. He held nine patents (4 for improving drains, three for water closets. one for pipe joints and, alas, one for manhole covers).
However, the "Silent Valveless Water Waste Preventer" system that allowed a toilet to flush effectively was invented--and documented as such--by Albert Giblin, who worked for Crapper. Some authorities believe that Giblin let Crapper use his new invention, while others maintain that Crapper purchased the patent rights and simply marketed the new device.
Crapper owned three plumbing shops which operated under the Crapper name as late as 1966...not Topps best effort IMHO...

Anyhoo, during WWI, US Soldiers spent time in England before going to battle lines. They saw the words "T. Crapper Chelsea" painted on all the toilet tanks and coined the slang word "crapper" for a toilet.

So this thread actually belongs in the Giblin.

Giblin or Crapper as long as it flushes!
    Good for you.

So we're not allowed to comment on a ridiculous post unless we're in Iraq?

  • Novocent,
Anything yet? Did they post 'em?

    Iseeyou,
Welcome, I'm just having some fun with your icon and temperment. I'm bummed you changed your icon, but the temperment is welcome anytime. I like some flavor--even if it is a touch misguided, in my opinion. The guys I really can't stand are the ones who apologize for PSA and sit on the fence with everything. They post thousands of times and never say anything interesting--or entertaining at all. Just blather about who used to own this card or that card and who doctored (supposedly) this card or that card without actually calling the guy a tool.
You behaved like a complete tool and we're still "friends" and it doesn't have to get personal. I'll probably agree with you tomorrow on a different topic...maybe...perhaps...hey, it could happen.

  • DGF-

No dice yet. Did you get my email last week? I sent you the grades from the other submission.

I did email PSA and they confirmed that they have my order "in the grading process". It's been in that process for seven weeks now! I had another submission all ready to send in before the end of December, but I changed my mind because I'd like to have the cards before June. image It woulda been nice to see what the nicer Randolph would have graded, but I kinda lost faith in that promotion.

    Iseeyou,

I hope you stay around. I like your posts, as they offer great information and insight to the forum. You seem to know your stuff, like the costitution. Your posts and topics remind me of another member who has 8 or 9 kids. Gee, with that may kids, you would have to know everything! (Some members don't have any kids but think they know everything!)

If some of the responses rub you the wrong way, just ignore then. There are those on this board who are jealous of those who display keen knowledge and wisdom.

Maybe our paths will cross at a card show in Yuba City someday!
