  • First off, thank you for the opportunity.

My perfect design would be to reinstate the 1917 version 1 25c obv onto a tri-wedge pictorial with the american flag in a central window. In each of the wedges would be an image of a obv of the flowing hair cent, obv of the Mercury dime and in the final, a draped bust.

Let's give homage to the lady liberty instead of the dead presidents!!!!

I would like to see a dollar coin similar to this:

Except with a more modern look. Dollar coins should be about the size of the nickel and twice as think. Not too big to carry, yet obviously not the same as anything we currently have. If anyone has seen a British pound lately, that would be the idea.
  • I like the obverse of the 1986 50c Ellis Island commemorative to be the model of the next coin dollar. Make them the same size as SBAs along with the same thickness. Moreover, make it clad and not golden as I don't think such an obverse will ever be confused with a quarter. That way there will be a true silver dollar included in silver proof sets from the US Mint. On the reverse, bring back the Apollo XI insignia which was cool on both Ikes and SBAs.

The obverse would depict Teddy Roosevelt carrying a big stick.
The reverse would depict a coiled rattlesnake with the motto "Dont tread on me"

    Lets show some attitude!!!

  • I would like to see a dollar coin the size of the Morgan/peace dollar with the miss liberty from the 1988 Commemorative $5 gold piece on the obverse and the eagle from the Morgan dollar on the reverse.

  • How 'bout bringing back the Trade $ since China's making everything here anyway.

Instead of presidents, I'd have rotating dollars on the obverse. Start with the flowing hair of 1794 on the obverse and continue on until all are used. For the reverse, I'd have the eagle above the twin towers resting the claws on the top of the towers. Sorry if this is already used, I haven't looked at any other designs. Ray

Contest has ended and I will look at all entries and will post the winner by the end of the week. The reason it has to wait that long is because I am going out of town for two days. Will be back Friday night.

Thank you to all folks who entered.

My dream coin would be the size of a susie b. solid silver. On the obverse picture of the different
typs of mini brewery beers (one beer per coin). reverse , a flying eagle clutching beer bottles instead of arrows.image

  • I received my Roosie. Thanks again Rampage. It's a very pretty coin with nice colorful toning on both sides. I would take a pic or scan - but I don't have luck picking up the beauty in colorful toning - I know, I've tried before. image
