That is odd reverse toning. The obverse toning, on the other hand, is beautiful!

  • I think it's slabbed by NGC or ANACS... your crop on the bottom of the reverse looks a little off...... otherwise... no clue on grade... Maybe Proof? Maybe MS? image

MS-66, non FB? Of course, I know nothing about Roosies.

My ignorance of the series would have prevented me from sending that coin in...for fear of having it sent back for QT. I'll take a wild stab at MS66 (non FT).

  • One of the neatest things about the Roosie series is being able to see oddball toning like this that's perfectly legit. This to me is album toning of a coin that sat in a Whitman album for a good long time. The reverse toning is definitely odd, but not that unusual that it wouldn't get market acceptance. 1959 is one of the tougher dates to find with nice toning so it was great to see this beauty arrive.

Thanks to Jarred (Poptopsrus) of J&J coins for remembering that I needed this one for my registry set image
  • I'll take a stab..... MS66 FT ?

Please don't hate me, I think it is AT using sulpher and a Kraft envelope....two spots on OBV are not a good sign.image

  • Not a problem - this is the old debate of AT/NT and someone is bound to be wrong sometime - but at least it's in plastic image
