Thanks for the link & the PCGS info posting guys. image

PCGS just shipped these yesterday. Unfortunately images won't then probably be done until the Monday after FUN (1/17).

I think the Bavaria set with the original presentation case should go for around $750 & the Prussia set should go for around $850. Any thoughts?

Me thinks you got your prices backwards. The Bavarian Set with Original Case should be more than the Lower Graded Prussian set.

    Thanks Bill.

OK $850 for the Bavaria set with the case & $750 for the Prussia set which never had a case issued originally (I think).

I believe both sets had boxes and are indistinguishable from each other. image

I believe Bill is right . . . but the prices for the sets must have jumped recently.

The Prussian have always seemed to be a little more difficult to come by as opposed to the Bavarian. The sets were in boxes, but not $100 boxes. The price is started at the very high end too.

That's what I thought . . . a little over a year ago I picked up an original Bavarian set in the box for $550 . . . and that was retail. Of course, they were not certified . . . but who cares?

I'm flexible on the price. I was really looking for some guidance as to what was reasonable. These are not something I regularly deal with. Thanks for all the advice & opinions. image

My advice . . . keep them . . . they are wonderful coins from an amazing sculptor. Alternatively, done them to the ANA Money Museum so I can play with them. image

Interesting you mention the ANA money museum. When I was a kid growing up in Manhattan, the money musuem used to be in midtown up on 6th Ave. in the 40's or 50's (I think). One day I finally got around to going there to learn they had just closed - for good in NY.

Between Christmas & New Years this year (2004) I took my kids to Colorado Springs & saw an advertisement for the new one there. We went only to find out they were closed for the week between the holidays. image

So I'm 0 for 2 trying to see the place. I'm sure it is really cool with all they have there. image

I thought it would be interesting to check the pops on these. If anyone has the PCGS coin number for the 1913 P 2 Mk I'd apopreciate it:

    1 21781129 1913 P2 Mk Sch51G1 BAVARIA PR66BN PCGS COIN # ???
    CURRENT POP: ???
    2 21781130 1913 P3 Mk Sch52G1 BAVARIA PR65BN PCGS COIN # 306045
    CURRENT POP: 2 64BN, 3 65BN, & 1 66BN + 2 63RD'S & 1 64RD (#306047) = 9 TOTAL
    3 21781131 1913 P5 Mk Sch53G1 BAVARIA PR63BN PCGS COIN # 306553
    CURRENT POP: 2 63BN & 1 65BN +1 ea 63RB, 64RB, 65RB, & 66RB (#306554) = 7 TOTAL
    4 21781132 1913 P10 Mk Sch202aG1 BAVARIA PR66RB PCGS COIN # 1002242
    CURRENT POP: 1 65RB & 2 66RB = 3 TOTAL *** TOP POP ***
    5 21781133 1913-G (P???) P20 Mk Sch202G1 BAVARIA PR65RB PCGS COIN # 306057 (306590???)
    CURRENT POP: 1 AU58BN (#306056) + 2 65RB'S + 1 64RD & 1 65RD (#306058) = 5 TOTAL
I think there might be a mechanical error on this one as it probably should NOT be 1913-G

Here is the best info I can discern for the Prussia set from the coin numbers & the current pops. I'm not sure if mine are included in the pop report yet but I don't think so:

    6 21781134 1913-G P2 Mk Sch111G3 PRUSSIA PR63RB PCGS COIN # 306614
    CURRENT POP: 63RB, 64RB, & 66RB = 3 TOTAL (NO BN's or RD's)
    7 21781135 1913-G P3 Mk Sch113G1 PRUSSIA PR64RB PCGS COIN # 306608
    CURRENT POP: 2 63RB & 2 64RB = 4 TOTAL (NO BN's or RD's) - *** TOP POP ***
    8 21781136 1913-G P5 Mk Sch114G2 PRUSSIA PR65RB PCGS COIN # 306611
    CURRENT POP: 62RB, 63RB, 64RB, & 65RB = 4 TOTAL (NO BN's or RD's) - *** TOP POP ***
    9 21781137 1913-G P10 Mk Sch253aG2 PRUSSIA PR63RB PCGS COIN # 306067
    CURRENT POP: 63RB & 65RB = 2 TOTAL (+ 1 65RD - #306068)
    10 21781138 1913-G P20 Mk Sch253G1 PRUSSIA PR64RB PCGS COIN # 306033
    CURRENT POP: 2 64RB & 2 66RB = 4 TOTAL (+1ea. 62BN & 64BN - #306032)
