When will make more? They have "Sold Out" of items before only to "find" a handfull someplace. The State Quarter FDCs come to mind.

There's no more to make. Products become reavailable only through order cancellations or (gasp!) returns.

I ordered four. I don't usually go for this stuff, but I just have a funny feeling about this set. I wonder how long it'll take the "PRE-SELLS" to hit eBay.

I am at a loss to see how these can become worth much. The coins are the same as in the proof sets. I guess it would depend on how much people want the silver plated bronze Jefferson Peace medal included with the set. Other than that, it is just packaging.

Exactly...There are many examples of mint packaging adding to or being key in the value of a product. Take the GSA Morgans, for instance. Original gov't packaging on an otherwise common CC dollar causes the price to skyrocket. Compare the price of an 1844-CC in a PCGS or NGC holder with "GSA" on the label to the price of one in the original packaging. The 1999 silver proof sets is another example.

Just my observation and eversohumble opinion...image

See my post in the other thread 'bout the nickels for the unsubstantiated and untrue rumor about these coins... image

I ordered 8 so after I keep all of the sets I want, that will leave me with 8 to sell image

BTW - Even the Edison set (where the box lights up) is sold out. Did I mention the box lights up?

The site states "Maximum production is 25,000 sets for 2004."

I was "assuming" since all coins were already produced that the mint ment coins dated 2004. But I've always been told not to assume anything.

It does look like there will be a profit for those that bought to sell.

Also, unless they make 30% more silver proof sets in 2004 than any other year (which is a possibility, but did the silver quarter proof sets hurt sales of these) then the proof Sac will be the lowest mintage to date. If so the price of the Sac alone could increase.

I totally agree which is why I did not order. I've got the Proof Sets(C & S), the nickel sets and the silver plated bronze medal was in the Coin & Currency set!

Unless the quality of these coins is dramatically different, they are all just dups packaged a little differently and called a "set"!

I received an email from the mint yesterday about the set being offered for sale. You can sign up for the United States Mint Product Notification Newsletter and they will send you an email on the day a new product is available.
