All Canada large cents:

1888 EF-40 Cleaned
1891 LDLL Obv#2 MS-60 Trace Red
1894 MS-60 Trace Red
1895 MS-62 RB
1895 MS-62 RB
1896 MS-62 RB
1897 MS-60 Trace Red
1902 AU-55
1902 MS-62 Trace Red
1906 MS-63 Red
1908 MS-62 RB
1909 MS-62 RB

The Edwardian cents I have had for many years and finally sent them in for grading. Six of the seven Victorian cents, including the 1891, I bought a few months ago on E-Bay for $30.00US. It was a bulk lot that was badly described and badly photographed, so I took a chance that paid off nicely. image

Did you send these coins to Canada or did you drop them off at the TOREX show? I've heard of some problems with sending coins to ICCS from the US.

Sent registered to Canada. I've done that three times now without problems.

No problems with customs? I've heard ICCS has to pay duty on the coins. Or customs want ICCS to pay duty.

Not been a problem for me so far. I fill out the customs as "Numismatic items. Sent for expertise only. Not for resale." ICCS does the same on the return. As I said, no problems.

Please be aware that on registered mail from US to CA the max insurance is $1,000 and from CA to the US it is $4,000. In the unlikely event a registered package gets lost either way, you'll lose anything over those amounts.

Good idea. That must have convinced Canadian Customs they will be returned to you.

It was ICCS (Brian Cornwell's idea). I just copied it on my end.

I think Brian was having the problem with customs, this obviously was the solution.

    Great grades, bosox!

I guess I'll have to wait until I can go to Torex some year to get ICCS to grade my 1948 Can. silver dollar because it's either a MS62 or 63, and could be worth
    over $1,000.

    Luvdawgs;

It's up to you. Registered mail, in my humble opinion, is safe to Canada. It sometimes takes two weeks to get there, but it gets there. Make sure you use the pink international return receipt forms, the green ones will not work. I sent my signature line coin (worth considerably more than $1,000) to ICCS for crossgrading several months ago with no problem. It safely got home to Papa.

Not trying to talk anybody into anything, but merely offering my perspective.
