MrsSpuds Half Dollar Roll Silver Finds (Possible P01 Pics added)

MrSpudMrSpud Posts: 4,499 ✭✭✭
MrsSpud went to the bank today and got 5 rolls of half dollars and went through them. She didn't find any 90% silver, but she did find 51 40%ers. She found four 1966s, nineteen 1967s, twentythree 1968Ds and five 1969s. The rest were clad and included one 1988P that looks like a P01 that must have been a pocket piece image

Sounds like purty good pickins! image

D'you suppose the 1988-P would slab as a PO01? That would be somethin'. (Or does it have "artificial wear"?) image

  • Post a Pic of the PO01. There are a handful of forum members who might pay big bucks for it!

The 88P looks pretty good, relatively speaking image I'm not really sure if it would slab or not though. I'll try and take a pic.

Here are the pics of the possible P01
  • Much better than a Poor. Nice score on the silver though image

Too good to be a poor, oh well, maybe if it spent some more time in someones pocket...?image

Here is the highest grade of the lot. An AU 69D with slight peripheral toning. I wonder if it previously spent some time in an album in someones collection?image

Wow, very GOOD finds! Sit back back with a cup of joe and enjoy the moment as it may never happen again!

My fingers still hurt from the last 100 rolls I went through for maybe 30 or so 40%er's a couple of 90%er's
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

    The name is LEE!

The 88-P is much better than a PO01 in regards to wear. It is also probably a casino coin and wouldn't holder due to damage (cuts and too many nics/scratches). Neat Kennedy though!

  • Looks like it might slab. Obverse looks FA-02 and reverse AG-03, hopefully you would get FA-02.

Edit: Braddick said it probably won't, I'd take his word for it. He's more of a expert on these than me. image

That offer expired Jan. 5th with, surprise, surprise, no offers.

You'de think someone with a rock tumbler would have jumped on that one, unless they know PCGS is too savy to holder an AW (Artifical Wear) coin... image
