Just bought a PCGS 63 1836 $5. I notice they come in two head types. Do you know how to tell which is which and which is scarcer.
Thanks
Jim

Capped Head 1829 - 1834
Classic Head 1834 - 1838
Coronet Type 1839 - 1866
According to my book the 1834 plain 4 and the crosslet 4 were made in both Capped and Classic Head Styles-
The Capped Head being worth much more in either variety, (plain 4 or crosslet 4).
I didnt see any reference to the 1836 being anything other than the Classic Head.
