Update from David Vargha

I emailed with David tonight
and he did confirm that he is in fact banned,
(unable to log in or post).

He asked me to post and confirm this
and to say that he has not been able to find
out WHY it happened.
He suspects it would be related to challenging
PSA on different ongoing issues, but some have
told him that they think it might be related to
a post he made to a thread about PSA calendars.
(David doubts that is actually why)

He is ok, but not happy.

What was the reason? I think Vargha was good for the boards. One of the reasons I keep coming here. He helped make the CU boards a place to come for sports card knowledge. Isn't that good for the PSA? If this keeps up these boards will become like the SGC boards. People make these boards good, lack of people make the SGC board horrible.

I think that PSA aka J. O. has to take a little heat, parody, criticism etc. and if they have a beef - grill it up and eat it!
To ban Vargha without the courtesy of an email is very sad IMO.

Gee, if anyone was critical early on, it was me . . . who kept asking if PSA had any way of tracking PSA submissions by a dealer. And I still didn't get an answer yet.

I, too, would wish to know what Vargha said to get him banned. Being new to the boards several weeks ago, I found his comments added a lot to the hobby.

If anyone knows why he was booted and is afraid to say so, email me at billa1@verizon.net, and I, in my usual diplomatic way will post it.

And, as for the PSA calendars, I received mine with my SMR and found it to be a winner. In fact, I spent the other evening transferring all my dates, etc. from my first 2005 calendar to the PSA calendar. It is beautiful and I enjoy looking at it. So if Vargha was critical of that, I certainly would like to know what the criticism there was.

It is okay to be critical of a business or other people as long as you can back it up. Unwarranted criticism, however, is uncalled for.

I still have not received the new SMR or a calandar. I'm still new at this, but here goes: Why would anyone be banned from this board if they did not use profanity? If Vargha posted his beefs here in an appropriate fashion, he should not have been banned. I understand that CU/PSA can do as they wish with their boards. However, Vargha didn't make me want to stop submitting to PSA with any of his posts, so where is the harm? Just one persons opinion...

Just a guess, but I imagine reference being made to the CEO's daughter being in a calendar would not be met with particulary delight by said CEO.

Like I say, it's just a guess, but I confess that for me the comment was a bit of an eyebrow-raiser.

I saw the Vargha post about the calendar-daughter. I have no idea if this was "the reason" but Vargha should have known better. Snide comments about a person's daughter or mother are off limits in any forum or conversation involving that particular person. If this was "the reason" then Vargha deserved to be banned. That being said, I like Vargha's posts and would enjoy having him back. If Vargha really misses this forum he should e-mail a sincere apology for that comment and he might be reinstated.

Billa, you can only upload new icons on the 15th. However, you can pick an icon from the thousands already uploaded by other users at any time. Just go to the bottom of your Profile page.

please allow me to set the record straight,it would only be fair since you have "outed me". i am in fact multi-sexual and i am damn proud of it.

it's been a while since we met at that "men for canines" meeting. it's no secret to anyone who knows me that i am indeed ,that weird guy who sits quietly in the corner. i was very grateful that you sought my company and i have to confess that you were quite the handsome devil, clad only in that black leather studded collar and the leather zipper mask. sadly, when you unzipped the opening that covered your mouth it was all over for me.i had only talked to you because you seemed just a little more depraved than myself. in retrospect , i don't believe i was ever more right about anything.
