Got grades after 2.5 months.....SMS Cameos are still tough!!!

This is a Teletrade order...interesting this is that the invoice shows it was received on 12/7/04 and shipped on 1/05/05. This order was sitting SOMEPLACE for 5 or 6 weeks because I submitted it to Teletrade the middle of October and Teletrade says it went to PCGS the following week. I finally had to get on Teletrade to find out where it was back in December and it appears that is when it got into the system. Nice. Was it worth the wait?

I got trashed on my last SMS submission ... brilliants on four coins that should have been at least CAM and a JFK that should have been DCAM. On presidential review, I got three of them kicked to CAMs by homerunhall. From comparing notes, both Russ and I both have 1967 DCAM SMS JFKs sitting in CAM holders from recent submissions ... I also scored a MS 67-CAM 1967 SMS quarter that I thought was real shot DCAM. Graders called it as brilliant as well, but David bumped it to CAM. SMS coins have to walk on water lately, it seems ...

so, let me get this right... these coins are sitting at Teletrade right now? Are they scheduled for an auction yet to where we can see the coins your talking about? Thanks!

Judging on your results it looks like you're a point looser than PCGS on average. Keep this in mind when buying raw coins and you'll do OK.

I've had my share of disappointments recently, also. I have a couple nice SMS nickels in right now and am waiting with baited breath to see what the results are. PCGS has been in major pucker mode.

First, teletrade seems to sometimes sitting on raw coins before sending them out. I have a couple raw submission in right now with them that are overdue if I had sent them in directly. Secondly both PCGS & NGC are being very harsh on SMS coins!
