OK whats your story. How accurate is the PSA population report? Have you ever resubmitted hoping for

How many of you believe the accuracy of the PSA population report? I know that some people have resubmitted some cards hoping for a better grade multiple times. What wild stories have you heard.... Please dont think i'm bashing the pop report. I just dont put as much faith into it as others for some of the totals.

The population report like the SMR is simply a guide. It is very helpful in try to establish how tough a given card is compared to other cards in that set. Whether or not there is really only 15 of a certain '58 Topps PSA Common vs. the 20 shown should not be the most important aspect. The fact that most cards have over 35 in the report should be enough to tell you it is a difficult card.

The 1971 Topps Greatest Moments set is not very accurate. I have cracked out Lou Brock twice in a PSA 7 and Joe Pepitone 3X in a PSA 7 and a couple of other cards. I sent in 40 or so slips to PSA along with Murcerfan back two years ago at the Nationals. I guess they are still behind in processing those???

Looking for high grade rookie cards and unopened boxes/cases
  • I have a few cards that I have had back from PSA for several months that are not reflected. I have also cracked a few out of PSA holders and kept the slip, but I have not sent them back yet. It doesn't really bother me until I see an Ebay auction with 1 of 1 and I also have the same card in the same grade. Or worse, the auction shows an "8" with none higher, and I am looking at a 9! .02
