New Camera, Y.A. Tittle Bowman

I wanted to know if by looking at this items picture should i get a new clearer camera. Will that help in the price also what would you guys think this would be rated for a PSA. Would I have gotten more money for it if i had. If so how much.

  • You are running into the same issue that many sellers do. You are using the wrong equipment for that item. Cameras are great for 3 dimensional things like a vase or statue.
    For cards, you should be using a flatbed scanner. Camera's tend to distort the image of a card and just are not clear enough to provide good detail.

  • Not a good idea.Scanners are cheap and easy to use and are the only way to really sell cards.

  • Scanners will provide the best result, but gigicams, if used properly, can be nearly as effective. And they're much quicker.

    1. You need plenty of light, but not direct light from an angle that could cause glare. The darker the subject, the longer the camera will expose the image to capture the image, and the more susceptible the picture will be to jitter. Plenty of light=shorter exposure=sharper image.
    2. Shoot straight on, never at an angle.
    3. Never use a flash. It can only cause glare if you are shooting at the proper angle.
    4. If available use Macro mode to get in nice and close.
    5. Use the largest size and highest bit rate available.
