in their bowl games. I don't support a playoff system but the confrence alliances have to go. It
seems however that the contracts are long term and we won't see that for a while. Its not like
college football has to worry about going on strike or the fans not showing up. We will always be
there.
OU look really bad but they are slipping all over the place. Do you blame the shoes or the field
guys, or maybe USC is that good?
All I heard today on talk radio was how USC was just overmatched against OU.....I guess thats
why they play the games?? Funny thing is if we did had a playoff system the second round would
be Auburn or USC against Texas Tech....is that what we want?

something special, I never heard of her. Leave it to Miami to bring this into town!

<< <i>Auburn damn near lost to VT. >>
auburn has the #1 hardest defense to score on in the nation - and may have slacked up in the 4th to allow vt to make it closer than it really was, but they did what they had to do and won. also, remember that vt is a great team that only lost to usc and auburn (who will end up finishing #1 and #2 in the polls in the end) so beating them by any number is good. it sure seems like it is oklahoma that is not deserviing of being in the top 5.

Auburn is better than VT, but Auburn's defense didn't force a 4th and goal drop nor a 29 yd field goal miss by VT. VT did that to themselves. Auburn will get what they deserve and that's the number 2 spot. Also VT lost 3 games - they lost 17-16 to NCST.

It's the latter.
USC would have destroyed anyone who walked out on that field tonight...Auburn included.
Congrats USC and all their fans for a second consecutive national championship...at least the BCS got it right this time.

I agree but it should have been auburn in that game and not oklahoma. I hate stoops. he is such a freakin whiner. serves him right his team got killed.
Did they? USC is not that much better than every other team in the country. They should weakness at times this year like everyone. Did the BCS have it right with Oklahoma being second? Didn't look like it last night... Granted, the next 8 games between them could be a split but that was pathetic.
USC was clicking on every aspect of their game last night...it wouldn't have mattered who played them, the result would have been the same.
USC would have beat anyone last night, except maybe Cal.
Then they would have needed a last second TD to win the game.
But Cal did great in their bowl game anyway.
<< <i>And Auburn squeaking out a win over their opponent showed they were a worthy number 3? >>

Auburn are the three best teams in the country this year.
It's foolish to argue if Auburn would have beat USC.
Or if UTAH would have beat Oklahoma.
The schools start the season looking to win their
conference (gather recruiting momentum), and hopefully
CASH in on a BCS bowl game at the end of the year
to bring big bucks to the university.
If they are ranked 1, 2, or 3 doesn't change how much
money they get. It only causes controversy with the fans who care
about being #1. And the big bowl dollars will never bring a cure to that disease.
If I had a vote, I would vote USC number 1.
Even though I still feel the same way I felt three months ago that
Auburn is the best team in the country. USC came up big when they
had to. Auburn came up big, but instead of blowing VT out late in
the game when ahead 16-0, they did the classy thing and just ran the ball with no pass attempts.
