Green label holders - default variety

I recently picked up a 1835 Half dime which was listed as a large date/large 5. It is actually a small date/small 5. In the early days of PCGS was the most common variety used as a default for the coin or was the wrong variety noted?

Hi Rich,

In the early days we just didn't designate the variety. I don't know what went on with your coin, but if you send it to us to my attention I'll fix it for you.
