New grading service? Or, has this one already been discussed?

RussRuss Posts: 48,514 ✭✭✭
Commonwealth Coin Grading Company LLC

They use coin world slabs, and obviously can't grade.

But, since it appears that they are offering grading services to the public, does that make them a grading company?

Wow that one barely went for the price of the CW slab, let alone the grading fee. Sheesh!

Looks like they dug in your garbage Russ. Found the one you threw away. And tried to call it something that don't exist.

    Oh! Notice how:

1- They don't grade world coins, but they've got a world coin in their logo

2- Their logo Indian gold is a piece of junk

Now, Russ ... four graders with combined experience of 25 years graded that coin. A few more years and perhaps they could distinguish a proof from a MS SMS, although I am far from certain that is a MS coin ...

And, they stand behind their product, like PCGS, with a guarantee to refund on overgraded coins. Who could turn down this offer:

Due to the volatile nature of the coin market and Internet auctions/sales, the selling prices in these auctions/sales do not necessarily represent the current fair market value of any particular coin. CCGC will determine the current fair market value of a coin based upon what CCGC believes, in its sole opinion, to be reliable current market information.

That is absolutely the nastiest PR70 I've ever seen! image

  • no names - no mugshots?

  • I'm sure it has been mentioned (in fact rading this tread and looking at the links I'm getting dejavu because I'm sure I have seen these exact comments and images before.) and yes I would consider it to be a legitimite grading service.

Yes I even already had their website filed away in a folder.
  • I read their legal guarantee. So I guess ever listing their coins on the NGC Registry is out huh?

  • I just read the whole thing. Geeeeeesh. Unbelievable. Wanna take bets on whether or not the image of the 2 classy people on the main page actually work at the company, or just stock photography? Are the holders sealed, or just snapped together? Real high security there. Oh, and how would they grade a REAL PF-70 Kennedy Half (aka - a PCGS PF-70 CAM)?? PF-70++++++++??? Would these CCGC coins cross at NTC, or would they get bagged by NTC? So many questions!

All that I can say is that my breakfast is coming right back up............and quickly:

They modeled their FAQ after ANACS.

They didn't model it after it, they stole it and switched ANACS to their name. Even the submission kit, which I can't find information on purchasing anywhere on their web site, heh heh.
