This came in yesterday. The marks you see to the left of the 4 in the date are on the holder, not the coin.

That would be nice, but unfortunately it's just another mark on the holder.
Very pretty Eric!

I see what looks like a hit on the reverse / Eagles wing, and something in Lady Libertys hair below the B in LIBERTY.
I like!!!

I bought this coin from Steve of PQDollars. I had made a mistake and sold all my Peace Dollars, and I wanted a nice one to practice with on the camera since Peace Dollars are quite a bit different in imaging compared to Morgans. Steve told me it was really PQ and looked like a 5 to him, and I agree. I'm pretty confident that if I busted this coin out it would come back in a 5 holder, but for a common date it's not worth the trouble. The bottom line is it's a beautiful coin, no matter what's on the holder.
Eric: I agree with you.
I always prefer to purchase coins that are solid for the grade, and perhaps liner coins with a shot at the next higher grade. I don't play the upgrade game, but enjoy beautiful coins no matter what holder or grade they are.
I am more concerned about the grade when negotiating price and determining market value of a coin when considering a purchase.
