Standing Liberty Quarters with nice color are hard to find. Ask anyone who collects them. This is a nice original example with what I consider very nice color. SLQs were never stored for any length in bags, like Morgans or many other higher denominations, and were the workhorse of the era. Few were saved in MS compared to many other series. So the only original NT coins had to come from long term storage in albums or similar holder. I’d guess this coin is album toned, but I’d hear other opinions. The reverse is unremarkable, with splotchy dark tone (sorry, no pic – I forgot to image). I know many folks can’t appreciate heavily circulated examples. For a series that really didn’t handle wear and circulation well, I still like this coin. It’s going in a holder or album, not in the tube with the rest of my AG/G SLQ’s.
